The Czech conquers the tournament in Abama Golf after a heart-stopping final day and achieves her second consecutive victory in the circuit
Ana Peláez, third tied, is again at the gates of her second title in the circuit
The Tenerife Women’s Open 2025 lived this Sunday a final day at the height of a spectacular course like Abama Golf. The victory was finally for Sára Kousková, who signed a card of 71 strokes (-9 total) to seal her second consecutive victory in the Ladies European Tour after winning a fortnight ago in the Jabra Ladies Open. The Czech, who started as leader with a one-stroke lead, again demonstrated her excellent form with a mixture of strength, strategy and nerves of steel in the last two holes.
Kousková began her round with an unstoppable pace, adding birdies on holes 1 and 2 to quickly open the gap on her pursuers. Another birdie on the 6th hole put her at -11 overall, but she then got into trouble from the tee and made her first bogey of the day on the 7th. After another birdie on the 10th and a spectacular putt on the 11th from more than seven metres, the Czech seemed to have sealed the tournament. However, the final round was unexpectedly complicated: a bogey on the 15th and a double-bogey on the 16th tightened the classification once again in a day of twists and turns. Kousková was able to pull herself together with composure to close with two solid pars on 17 and 18 and take the victory with a cumulative score of -9 on the island of eternal spring.
‘I’m speechless, still processing what happened,’ said an emotional Kousková after the trophy presentation. “This course can give you so much… or take it all away in an instant. I had a bad swing on 16, but I knew I had to focus on the next shot. My caddie helped me a lot, he kept me light, talking to me about other things so I didn’t think too much. I’m very proud of the work we’ve done”. The Czech player is consolidated as one of the fittest players on the circuit this season and a clear candidate for the LET Order of Merit. Ana Pelaez, third tied, again fall short of his second title on the circuit.
Helen Briem finished in second place. The young German once again showed signs of her tremendous potential and was one of those who put the Czech under the most pressure with her birdie on the 17th hole. With a round of 70 strokes (-2) and a total of -8, she was just one stroke away from the playoff and from fighting for what could have been her second victory on the circuit after her victory at La Sella in 2024.
For her part, Ana Peláez from Malaga once again performed at a good level on the last day of the Tenerife Women’s Open. Despite not being able to repeat the sensational round of 66 strokes signed on the third day, the Andalusian pulled control and temperance to close his participation with a card of par of the course (72). A birdie on the 10th hole, after a first round of eight pars and a bogey, allowed her to finish the tournament with -7, tied third with the Austrian Emma Spitz and the Finnish Noora Komulainen.
“Today was a day to fight and stand firm. I wasn’t as accurate off the tee as I was yesterday, but I tried to stay calm and play every shot with intent,” said Ana. “I’m very happy with the week overall. The victory will come. I felt very supported in Tenerife, it was special to share it with my caddie, with my people… Playing at home is always a luxury. It was my first time on the island and I loved this course. I’m speechless, still processing what has happened,” said Kousková emotionally after the trophy presentation. “This course can give you so much… or take it all away in an instant. Good performance by the Spanish players
Along with Ana Pelaez, Marta Martin again showed solidity with a card of 73 strokes (+1) to finish with -2 to the total in the twentieth position tied. The Spaniard played some of the most spectacular shots of the week and continues her progression on the circuit. Blanca Fernández and Luna Sobrón finished with +2, tied for 30th place, while Amaia Latorre (+6) and Clara Moyano (+12) failed to improve in the final round.

A new queen on the tour
The Czech Sára Kousková added her second consecutive victory on the circuit. Two victories on the Ladies European Tour and four victories on the LET Access Series make up the record of a player who, along with Mimi Rhodes (3 victories this year), is the favourite to win the Tour Order of Merit.
